DLSU Libraries Promotes Digital Citizenship

As one of the main events of the IamInfoSMART 2019, the De La Salle University (DLSU) Libraries featured an activity entitled "Tracing Your Digital Thumbprint: A Workshop on Digital Insight, Impact, and Discernment" on November 14, 2020, at Philippe Jones Lhuillier Conference Room, 14th floor, Henry Sy, Sr. Hall, De La Salle University.

This event is part of the Digital Thumbprint Program (DTP) of Globe Telecom, an outreach program that aims to "educate the youth on digital citizenship and the responsible use of technology” through conducting free school workshops.

The workshop, facilitated by Mr. Kelvin Ingente, focused on the following topics: Cybersecurity and safety (Digital Insight), Online responsibility and etiquette (Digital Impact ) and Information critiquing, and critical thinking skills (Digital Discernment). During his talk, he showed examples of the actual online behavior of people on social media websites, news, including information. Participants of the workshop included students and faculty of DLSU as well as guests from other institutions. This activity provided an opportunity for the participants to gain better understanding on being a more responsible online citizen.
