In observance of the Women’s Role in History month (Proclamation No. 227, s. 1988), the Libraries proudly presents, Salamat, President Cory, 1933-2009: a tribute to the mother of Philippine democracy, as Video Pick of the Week. It will run from 6-11 March 2017 at the TV corner, The Learning Commons, 6th floor, Henry Sy Sr. Hall.

Summary: "On August 1, 2009, a nation lost its mother. But through her death, Filipinos all over the world remembered that they are part of one family. She was known as the widow in yellow, the symbol of People Power and the Philippines' first female president. But more than anything else, Corazon Cojuangco Aquino was a simple housewife who shared her husband's dream of a free and peaceful life. Witness the events that rekindled the memories of the People Power revolution, and experience once again the overwhelming display of love and sympathy as a grateful nation bids farewell to the woman who devoted her life to God and her country (from source video).

Video Pick of the Week is an initiative to promote media and information literacy in the academic community. It also aims to promote the audiovisual collection of the Instructional Media Services (IMS) of the Libraries.
