Video Pick of the Week (01-04 February 2017): Tuklas sining: video documentaries on the Philippine arts

In observance of the National Arts Month (Proclamation No. 683, s. 1991)the Libraries proudly presents, Tuklas sining: video documentaries on the Philippine arts, as ​​Video Pick of the Week. It will run from 01-04 February 2017 at the TV corner, The Learning Commons, 6th floor, Henry Sy Sr. Hall.​        

Tuklas sining is "a collection of video documentaries that trace, through the major periods of Philippines history, the evolution of the seven arts in the country: Architecture, Dance, Literature, Film, Theater, Music and Visual Arts. Written and directed by renowned scholars and artists in the country, the documentaries illustrate the importance of arts and culture in creating a Filipino national consciousness and identity and in nation-building. The documentaries highlight the outstanding works from each artistic field covering the various regions of the country" (source video).

Video Pick of the Week is an initiative to promote media and information literacy in the academic community. It also aims to promote the audiovisual collection of the Instructional Media Services (IMS) of the Libraries.
