The significance of collaboration and connection for the next generation of libraries was the main focus of the recently concluded 17th Congress of Southeast Asian Librarians (CONSAL 2018) with a theme “Next Generation Libraries: Collaborate and Connect” held last 2-5 May 2018 at Myanmar International Convention Center, Naypyitaw, Myanmar. Organized by Myanmar Library Association, this year’s gathering aims to provide a forum for librarians and other information professionals to strengthen networks, partnerships and linkages. It further promotes coordination and collaboration among the ten (10) member countries of CONSAL with a global perspective, especially in the field of library and information science, information studies and other interdisciplinary areas in the digital era. The De La Salle University Libraries held another year of fun and exciting activities for all their library faculty and staff in the recently concluded annual library team building in Hidden Valley, Sorosoro, Batangas City last May 11, 2018. The theme of the activity this year was One Team, One Library, One La Salle . It was organized by the library team building committees headed by the newly hired librarian, Jorge Bundalian, co-chaired by Jorge Rada and their members namely Marvin Factor, Minandro Caindoc and Arnold Jansen Versoza.  The group was composed of 71 library personnel. Five teams were formed (Orange, Pink, Green, Blue and Yellow) with fourteen (14) members each. A free t-shirt was given to all the members of the team corresponding to their assigned color. Dr. Muhammad Latif, Engineer of the American Schools and Hospitals Abroad (ASHA) of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), came all the way from the US to visit DLSU last April 24, 2018, as part of his mission to check on the ASHA-funded sites, specifically, the (old) library and the student services buildings of the university. Dr. Latif was warmly received by Chancellor Dr. Robert Roleda, together with the Vice President for External Relations and Internationalization, Dr. Laurene Chua-Garcia, Donor Relations and Alumni Engagement Officer Mr. Ramoncito Emmanuelle R. Dizon, Director of Libraries Ms. Christine Abrigo and Associate American Corner Librarian, Ms. Donna Lyn Labangon. Distinguished lady ambassadors with DLSU administrators In celebration of the  Women 's Month, the Libraries hosted  " Women  in  Diplomacy : Do  Women  Make Better Diplomats?"  on  23 March 2018  (Friday) at 1:00 PM at The Learning Commons, 6 th  floor, Henry Sy Sr. Hall.  This is the second in the Diplomatic Dialogue series spearheaded by Ambassador Delia Albert ( the first Diplomatic Dialogue was held last 31 March 2016 ), in partnership with the DLSU Libraries and the Department of Foreign Affairs. In the observation of the Year of the Earth Dog, The Libraries in partnership with the Office of Personnel Management, conducted the 3rd session of Lunch ‘N Learn Program last February 28, 2018 at The Learning Commons. The 12 th session of the DLSU Libraries’ Human Library (HL) program was held in the DLSU Rufino Campus, BGC on January 25, 2018.  The program was brought all the way from the Manila Campus to Bonifacio Global City in order to let law students (1) feel and understand the situations of people that are recipients of prejudice due to their appearance, culture, economic status, etc.; (2) strengthen their neutral views on people and situations by lessening their prejudices against certain people; and, (3) improve their sense of judgement through listening deeply to prejudiced people. Although the HL has already run for twelve (12) sessions, this was the first time it was brought to the Rufino Campus. In order to capture the audience, an exhibit was set up which lasted for 1 week, catchy posters in various strategic places were posted in the campus, as well as spread using social media, word-of-mouth.
