On September 12, 2014, the De La Salle University Libraries formally launched the newest addition to its Special Collections -- The Chinese Corner. The Chinese Corner is a generous donation from China Hanban in Beijing.  Hanban (also known as Confucius Institute Headquarters), is a public institution affiliated with the Chinese Ministry of Education. It is committed to providing Chinese language and cultural teaching resources and services worldwide, responding to the needs of foreign Chinese learners. The Corner primarily aims at supporting Chinese language programs in educational institutions of various types and levels, and promoting cultural exchanges. As such, the collection is strong in CLT or Chinese Language Teaching and makes available a great deal of information on Chinese customs, tradition, arts, history and literature.
