The goal of this program is to serve as a platform for United States Government (USG) alumni and local women environmental leaders/advocates to share their environmental advocacy or project. Moreover, it aims to serve as a springboard to stimulate responsible actions to collectively provide solutions to the prevailing climate and environmental problems</span>.</div><p></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">As part of the aforementioned speaker series, AC Manila conducted a panel discussion titled <i><b>A Virtual Dialogue with Women Ecowarriors</b></i> last 26 March 2021 (Friday) from 10 AM to 11 AM via Zoom webinar. The invited guest panelists were Amina Shayne Baginda Halil, Founder of Seaviors, and Czarina Constantino-Panopio, the National Lead of No Plastics in Nature Initiative, World Wide Fund for Nature Philippines. </span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">The discussion circled on how the panelists paved the way to becoming empowered women eco-warriors and how they braved the challenges of being a woman in a male-dominated field. Special focus was also given to the harsh truths about the current state of the earth’s climate and environment. The session also covered some practical ways in which people could contribute to the betterment of the environment that could begin with having proper understanding and awareness on actions that have a detrimental effect on the environment. They also shared insights on what to consider when thinking of starting an environmental protection advocacy. </span></p><span id="docs-internal-guid-cdb57ebe-7fff-2dd9-5fb3-ed9f2366a6ac"><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.2; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">The majority of the attendees (79.6%) found the discussion excellent and thought-provoking. some spiritual nourishment. Last 23 February 2021, the Staff Development
Committee organized a faith formation activity entitled, <i>An Especially Close Encounter with the Lord: a </i></span><i>Recollection </i>held via Zoom<i> </i><span style="font-family: inherit;">with the theme, “Rekindling our

through prayers, songs, and reflections.</span></div></span></span><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #444444; font-family: inherit;"></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #444444; font-family: inherit;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6bu3RXidzJoc5UekIbA3KrP-vT7jQOQ3d-HVVJVmxdLxCha6H-MtPhdruAvowXXGYC0p8nL5lWCkzQ7KCXRAbKAGYtu-s5cM-tmZUbUn8te6a9jS_2hrITRtsY2tHEUJG4_v_Y1oYGPg//" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img data-original-height="217" data-original-width="385" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6bu3RXidzJoc5UekIbA3KrP-vT7jQOQ3d-HVVJVmxdLxCha6H-MtPhdruAvowXXGYC0p8nL5lWCkzQ7KCXRAbKAGYtu-s5cM-tmZUbUn8te6a9jS_2hrITRtsY2tHEUJG4_v_Y1oYGPg/w400-h225/image.png" title="Rev. Francis Salcedo During the Faith Formation Activity in Zoom</span></div><span style="color: #444444; font-family: inherit;"><br /></span><span style="color: #444444; font-family: inherit;">The faith formation activity was divided into three parts: Session 1: Rekindling faith in
the workplace and family; Session 2: Rekindling our faith in God; and, Session
3: Reflection and sharing.</span><span style="color: #444444; font-family: inherit;"> </span><span style="color: #444444; font-family: inherit;">Session 1
emphasized the importance of eliminating stress in our life as it becomes the
main cause of depression. Fr. Francis encouraged everyone to take care of
themselves because it is in doing so that they can take care of their loved
ones. He also encouraged the participants to offer help and seek help when
needed.</span><p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #444444; font-family: inherit;">In the second part of the session, Fr. Francis enjoined everyone to
love his/her work - be it in the office or at home. This is because love is
intertwined with faith. Without love, no one can be faithful. He ended this
session by recommending ways on how to balance family life. He said that (1)
listening to one another; (2) forgiving each other; (3) focusing on the many
blessing of God; and, (4) always praying as a family, are the best ways to
pursue spirituality in the family. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #444444; font-family: inherit;">In the next session, Fr. Francis concentrated on the mystery of
suffering and declared that suffering is part of being human and is the destiny of each human being. He also provided a theologian’s approach in
discussing what suffering means by presenting a video clip that talked about
the three books of wisdom: Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Job. The said clip
centered on Job’s painful sufferings, how he moved on from those sufferings,
and how God blessed him with more than what he used to have. Fr. Francis concluded
that sufferings are ways to rekindle our faith in God.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #444444; font-family: inherit;">In the last part of the recollection activity, the participants were divided into
groups of four for the breakout session. They were asked to share among the members of the group their reflection on these questions: “What
message in this recollection is most meaningful to your right now? Why?” Everyone
shared their realizations, difficulties, and blessings amidst the pandemic. They also expressed that being part of the Lasallian community was indeed a blessing. Additionally, everyone is convinced they are
not alone in this journey and fight against the pandemic.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #444444; font-family: inherit;">In conclusion, the activity resonated what Ms. Christine Abrigo has said
during her opening message: “We are thankful we get to eat breakfast with our
family every day, we still have our jobs, and we are healthy.”</span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #444444; font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #444444; font-family: inherit;"></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #444444; font-family: inherit;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjR2nMgLuUffTgaeC_V4FbbdGUulMuwahNXtmOdFLVvcwr-jrUvXnSvtfekfaLrdMC7lrUBEtNpI3oe9qXExpaivA5NDmZqpWuJEgHoC9SKvwzb2iAjgQ8kAhPThddmCdbkfJUAokggctA//" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="323" data-original-width="437" height="296" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjR2nMgLuUffTgaeC_V4FbbdGUulMuwahNXtmOdFLVvcwr-jrUvXnSvtfekfaLrdMC7lrUBEtNpI3oe9qXExpaivA5NDmZqpWuJEgHoC9SKvwzb2iAjgQ8kAhPThddmCdbkfJUAokggctA/w400-h296/image.png" width="400" /></a></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #444444; font-family: inherit;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoXDZbK29p20Gj9QguC71WsIfwJBfmk9U3bi3r_CcBznInZGgVt2AKrA9xpSDlZMnzHs3oYHozHASPTt3mOofNCVgFxRxXJSecIvBCwWA4L-GCELhNvyZTWB4A9ct0i1HX07gjSXecXxQ//" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="315" data-original-width="448" height="281" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoXDZbK29p20Gj9QguC71WsIfwJBfmk9U3bi3r_CcBznInZGgVt2AKrA9xpSDlZMnzHs3oYHozHASPTt3mOofNCVgFxRxXJSecIvBCwWA4L-GCELhNvyZTWB4A9ct0i1HX07gjSXecXxQ/w400-h281/image.png" width="400" /></a></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #444444; font-family: inherit;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6L-pJRbcfH11B3sPpGIdri4o9RJkQynQiqy2sHPlbG3CdGix4iEE0ptONdQ63OxLP5UJvebeQDtMzn2BqUgI_caM2wOYM9m4h0o4lTrCZ2kS450G6dORLJIzxT0K4q5xN6Gx4voIb3HU//" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="314" data-original-width="447" height="281" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6L-pJRbcfH11B3sPpGIdri4o9RJkQynQiqy2sHPlbG3CdGix4iEE0ptONdQ63OxLP5UJvebeQDtMzn2BqUgI_caM2wOYM9m4h0o4lTrCZ2kS450G6dORLJIzxT0K4q5xN6Gx4voIb3HU/w400-h281/image.png" width="400" /></a></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #444444; font-family: inherit;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-Vvvw3-4C5eZxWFLCJydtoetia1I6lpf22AW3lDZImDiYeanptDd0F4r9LEHqtDs-tgXyj2F527_pn2OwtVS4MSd2_k_jWvOF7gzgx625MC3HfpQCYmV7o1DzIiNrrJky3ohDT-qBbGw//" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="316" data-original-width="455" height="278" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-Vvvw3-4C5eZxWFLCJydtoetia1I6lpf22AW3lDZImDiYeanptDd0F4r9LEHqtDs-tgXyj2F527_pn2OwtVS4MSd2_k_jWvOF7gzgx625MC3HfpQCYmV7o1DzIiNrrJky3ohDT-qBbGw/w400-h278/image.png" width="400" /></a></span></div><span style="color: #444444; font-family: inherit;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #444444; font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div><span style="font-size: x-small;">Group Photo during faith formation activity</span><br /><br /></span></div><span style="color: #444444; font-family: inherit;"><br /><br /></span></div><span style="color: #444444; font-family: inherit;"><br /><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #444444; font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></p><br /><br /></span><p></p>Janice Peñaflorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04819246013555819863noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8728165457991202509.post-87085737369297056782021-02-22T14:44:00.001+08:002022-02-22T17:46:57.669+08:00Training Workshop on Bibliometric Analysis Using VOSviewer -- For Librarians<p><span style="font-family: inherit;">With the many applications of bibliometrics in the area of librarianship and the availability of bibliographic data sources, researcher-librarians would definitely benefit from learning how to use the tools for bibliometric analysis. Raymundo Suplido, FSC. Partners from Elsevier and Digital Commons led by Mr. Jean Gabriel Bankier, as well librarians from other universities, also participated in the virtual launch. <p></p><p style="text-align: justify;">The DLSU Libraries recognizes its role as a knowledge hub for scholarly engagement and digital scholarship. With this in mind, it continues to innovate and reinvent things in the library to better support the Lasallian researchers in their bigger and more meaningful mission to the country and the world. The establishment of the Animo Repository is the Libraries contribution not only the Lasallian community but also to the library community in the country.</p><p style="text-align: justify;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRXgUkiTGkZSAe-crkci4MkQLYlfPEppckV_pUWJTDp38KLXkT5lc6kluF8PojTLfWrwzOADUOe99DIzoXPzRylDC24DKlZbvkdCTIQz95oaeGRary7-uZ2Zz71kjqiQ3knBx8xPjeXbc//" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img alt="" data-original-height="653" data-original-width="1338" height="312" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRXgUkiTGkZSAe-crkci4MkQLYlfPEppckV_pUWJTDp38KLXkT5lc6kluF8PojTLfWrwzOADUOe99DIzoXPzRylDC24DKlZbvkdCTIQz95oaeGRary7-uZ2Zz71kjqiQ3knBx8xPjeXbc/w640-h312/image.png" width="640" /></a></p><p style="text-align: justify;">The main purpose of the Animo Repository is to expand DLSU's research visibility. In her message, Ms. Christine Abrigo said that the Libraries is moving beyond keeping things curatorial and thus beyond preservation. Preservation, she pointed out, is about accessibility and promotion of scholarly communication. Animo Repository is designed to make the scholarly works of the DLSU community accessible to a wider audience. With the increased visibility, it provides researchers opportunities for collaboration within or outside of academia. </p><p style="text-align: justify;">Apart from serving as single location to locate and access the scholarly publications of DLSU researchers, the Animo Repository will also feature the library's archival and special collections. Furthermore, it also offers infrastructure that supports data management, journal publishing and even open education initiatives. </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE7rgfmToZHxrbzXRZQ5N-pN5Ai6dQs2g3s_P6d1q8P06ypTtjBFDoEO-DGRwSUx0GmqAfUd3-B4KBklr7BWB2j80kKbsQ5i7HfiR-32MfrWlE7rPesXtj7pjP1QKYgb-biRX56T4Fmnk//" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="720" data-original-width="960" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE7rgfmToZHxrbzXRZQ5N-pN5Ai6dQs2g3s_P6d1q8P06ypTtjBFDoEO-DGRwSUx0GmqAfUd3-B4KBklr7BWB2j80kKbsQ5i7HfiR-32MfrWlE7rPesXtj7pjP1QKYgb-biRX56T4Fmnk/w640-h480/image.png" width="640" /></a></div><br /><br /><p></p><p><br /></p>Janice Peñaflorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04819246013555819863noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8728165457991202509.post-68730004486778026482020-09-14T10:20:00.003+08:002022-02-22T17:46:57.659+08:00DLSU Libraries Unveils AnimoSearch <div class="separator"><p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left; text-indent: 0in;"><br /></p></div><p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; text-indent: 0in;"><span style="text-indent: 0in;">Last September 1, 2020, the DLSU Libraries celebrated another milestone and hosted a virtual event to launch AnimoSearch, its new discovery tool, via Zoom.
