Trial access to Kanopy

We are pleased to announce to the community that the trial access to  Kanopy  is now available until  16  August 2014 . Kanopy Streaming Video Library  offers over 20,000 educational online video catalogs across all disciplines   including Arts, Business, Media/Communication, Sciences, Humanities and Teacher Education. Through a dedicated platform, it incorporates great features such as Learning Management System, embed, commentary and engagement tools, clip and playlist creation, 360° discoverability, and much more. Once  Kanopy  has been tried, kindly click and accomplish this  Online Feedback Form  (indicate  Kanopy   at the field:  Name of online article/journal/ebook database and/or tool ). F. Sionil Jose formally turns over his prized collection to the DLSU Libraries

On July 11, 2014 , Philippine’s National Artist for Literature, internationally acclaimed and multi-awarded author, F. Sionil Jose formally turned over his collection to the DLSU Libraries. Acknowledgement goes to Dr. Vince Gomez who jumpstarted a series of meetings with the Jose family by his casual mention of the Libraries as one of the possible repository of the collection, thus leading to this great partnership. Now housed at the 12/F of the Learning Commons , the collection is composed of his complete works including manuscripts, published works, and articles. His novels and short stories have been translated in 28 different languages. The novels in the Rosales saga alone have been translated into more than 22 languages.

Trial access to Oddizzi

Oddizzi i s an award winning, primary digital resource that develops world knowledge and understanding, and enables classes to link up using the 'ClassPals' system. It is widely used in schools for geography and social studies, global citizenship topic work and to build research skills. It can support literacy topics and is an ideal platform for language learning . Winning Moments: Archers in Focus exhibit

In recognition of our athletes during the 76 th  season of the University Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP), the Libraries, in cooperation with the Office of Sports Development (OSD ), would like to invite the community to visit the exhibit entitled,  Winning Moments: Archers in Focus , at  The Learning Commons, 6th floor of Henry Sy, Sr. Hall. Highlights of the various sports events in pictures and videos, awards earned from Season 76, as well as the back-to-back general championship trophies are currently on display at the exhibit area. This activity will run until  8 August 2014 .
