Academic Services Group Sponsors On-The-Spot Poster Making Contest

In celebration of the Environment Week, the Academic Services Group headed by Mr. Edwin P. Santiago, Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Services, in partnership with the American Corner-Manila, organized an on-the-spot poster making contest on 19 January 2013, held at the 13th floor of the Learning Commons.

Themed as Befriend Nature for A Bright Future: Kaibiganin ang Kalikasan para sa Magandang Kinabukasan, the contest aimed to impress in the minds of Filipino children the love for Mother Nature and the important role they play in nurturing nature.




The activity was open to children/relatives of Academic Services faculty & staff with ages 6 to 17 years old. Awarded as winners were: Ariane Janelle A. Gementiza (1st place), daughter of Mr. Joel Gementiza from the Library; Ranzel G. Labangon (2nd place ), sister of Ms. Donna Lyn G. Labangon, also from the Library; and, Monique A. Arevalo (3rd place), daughter of Ms. Constancia  A. Arevalo of the Institutional Testing and Evaluation Office (ITEO). The winners went home with National Book Store gift certificates worth Php2,000.00, Php1,500.00 and Php1,000.00 for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes, respectively, while all the contestants also received loot bags.
